Sports car rental FAQ

18 questions we get asked most, answered without hedging. If yours is not here, just message us — we will answer it and add it here.

Before you book

How old do I need to be to rent a sports car?

Twenty-three for most of the fleet, twenty-five for the highest-powered cars — the Huracán, the Aventador S, the 911 GT3 and the GT-R. You also need to have held a full licence for at least two years. If you are close to either line, message us before you pay anything and we will give you a straight yes or no on the phone, not a surprise at the garage.

What documents do you need?

A photo of your driving licence, a photo of your IC or passport, and a signed rental agreement. That is the whole list. Malaysian licences, and foreign licences accompanied by an International Driving Permit, are both fine. We can do all of it over WhatsApp before the car leaves the garage, which is why a same-day booking is often possible.

Can I rent a sports car with a foreign licence?

Yes, with an International Driving Permit alongside your home licence. Bring both physically — a photo of the IDP on your phone is not enough if you are stopped. If your licence is issued in English, the IDP is a formality but we still ask for it, because our insurance is written that way and we are not willing to be vague about that.

How far in advance should I book?

For a weekend on one of the quicker cars, two to three weeks. For December, Chinese New Year and the school holidays, longer — the sports cars go first and they go early. For a weekday, often the same day is fine. If your date is fixed and matters, put the deposit down and the car is genuinely reserved for you; we do not double-book and then call you to apologise.

Which car should I choose if I have never driven a performance car?

The GR Supra, the 718 Cayman, the Golf GTI or the Civic Type R. All four are fast enough to be an occasion and none of them will catch you out. We would steer you away from the Huracán, the Aventador and the GT3 for a first booking — not because you cannot drive them, but because a very low nose plus an unfamiliar car plus a car park ramp is where nearly every incident in this business begins.

Do you deliver, and is there a charge?

We deliver anywhere in the Klang Valley, free on hires of two days or more. Single-day hires carry a delivery fee that depends on distance from our garage in SS15, Subang Jaya. You are also welcome to collect from the garage yourself at no charge, which we genuinely recommend for a first booking — you get to sit in a few cars and change your mind.

Payment and deposit

How much is the deposit?

It is set by the car, not the brand. Most of the fleet is RM1,000, sports and performance models are RM1,500, and the supercars are RM2,500. Every car page on this site states its own deposit, so there is nothing to discover at handover. It is fully refundable once the car comes back without damage or outstanding summonses.

When do I get the deposit back?

Once the car has been checked over and we have confirmed there are no new summonses against the plate, which usually takes a few working days, not the same afternoon. Summonses can take a while to appear against a plate, which is the honest reason for the wait. If something is deducted, you get photographs and the actual repair or summons figure, not an estimate.

Are the rates on this site the real rates?

Yes. The daily rate on each car page is what you pay for that car, and it is read live from our booking system, never typed into this website — so it cannot drift out of date. Delivery for single-day hires and any driver charge are the only additions, and both are quoted before you commit. Weekly and monthly rates are meaningfully lower than multiplying the daily rate.

What is included in the rate?

Insurance, road tax and servicing. Fuel is not — the car goes out full and should come back full. Tolls are yours, and we leave a Touch 'n Go card in every car so you are not stuck at a barrier; whatever you use is settled at the end. There is no charge for the second driver as long as we have seen their licence in advance.

Is there a mileage limit?

Every car includes 130 kilometres a day, 910 a week or 4,000 a month, stated in your agreement before you sign, not buried in it, with a per-kilometre rate beyond that. Normal use across the Klang Valley and a run up to Genting or Bentong sits comfortably inside a day's allowance. If you are planning something longer — Penang, Singapore, an east coast trip — tell us when you book so we can raise the allowance, and because some cars are not permitted to leave the country and you should know which before you plan a route.

During the hire

What happens if it rains?

You drive more carefully, and if you have a convertible you put the roof up. All the cars are on road tyres suited to wet weather, but the quicker rear-drive cars — the M4, the 911s, the GT-R less so — genuinely do behave differently in standing water. If a storm arrives while you are out and you would rather wait it out somewhere, that is always the right call.

What if the car breaks down or something goes wrong?

Call the number on your agreement, not a general line — it reaches someone who can actually send help. Recovery for a mechanical fault is on us, including getting you home. If the car is off the road through no fault of yours, we either substitute another car or refund the unused days. We do not argue about which of those it is going to be while you are standing at the roadside.

Can I drive it up to Genting or Bentong?

Yes for most of the fleet, and you do not need permission for a Genting, Bentong or Melaka run. For longer trips and for the supercars, tell us first — partly for the mileage allowance and partly because we would rather know roughly where a very expensive car is. Crossing into Singapore needs specific arrangement and is not possible on every car.

Where should I park it?

Covered, guarded, and not on the street overnight. This is the single most useful thing on this page. Mall car parks are fine; the level nearest the entrance where there is foot traffic is better than the empty top floor. Watch the ramps in older buildings if you are in something low — the Huracán, the 718s and the M4 all have front lips that will find a steep transition you did not notice.

Returning the car

What condition does the car need to come back in?

Full tank, and reasonably clean inside. We do not charge for road dust or a weekend's worth of normal use, and we do not inspect with a torch looking for reasons to bill you. Sand, spilled drinks, smoke or anything that needs a full interior detail is chargeable, and we will show you the photographs, not just the invoice.

What if I damage it?

Tell us straight away, not at handover. Insurance covers accident damage subject to the excess stated in your agreement, and kerbed wheels or a scraped front lip are the two most common items — both are quoted at the actual repair cost. Nothing gets deducted without a photograph and a figure you can check.

Can I extend the hire while I have the car?

Usually, and the earlier you ask the better the odds, because the car may well be booked out the day you are due back. Extensions are charged at the same daily rate, and if the extension takes you across a weekly threshold we switch you to the weekly rate and the day count stops there. Message us as soon as you think you might want an extra day.

Still not clear?

We would rather answer ten questions before a booking than untangle one misunderstanding afterwards.
